Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Academic and Grant Writing Enclave handles personal information when you use Grantgator.

Effective date: 25 July 2026

1. Who we are

Grantgator is operated in Nigeria by Academic and Grant Writing Enclave (“Grantgator,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Questions or privacy requests may be sent to academicgrantwritingenclave@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information, such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and profile details.
  • Grant activity, such as saved grants, application records, statuses, deadlines, and proposal workspace content.
  • Technical and usage information needed to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the service.
  • Google account and Calendar authorization information when you choose to connect Google services.

3. Google sign-in and Google Calendar data

Google sign-in provides your basic profile information, including your name, email address, and profile image, so that we can create or access your Grantgator account.

If you separately connect Google Calendar, Grantgator requests permission to create, update, and delete events. We use that permission only to synchronize grant-application deadlines and reminders selected through Grantgator. Synced events may contain the grant title, funder, application status, deadline, and a link back to Grantgator. Grantgator does not request access to read the contents of your other Calendar events.

We store the OAuth tokens and event identifiers needed to maintain the connection. Disconnecting Google Calendar revokes the token where possible and removes the stored connection and local event mappings. You can also revoke access from your Google Account.

4. How we use information

  • Provide authentication, grant discovery, tracking, proposal, and Calendar-sync features.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and support users.
  • Understand service performance and improve Grantgator.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.

5. Google API Services User Data Policy

Grantgator’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, sell it, or permit humans to read it except with your affirmative agreement for support or security, when necessary to comply with applicable law, or when the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.

6. How we share information

We may use service providers for hosting, authentication, database services, analytics, email delivery, security, and infrastructure. They may process information only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business reorganization. We do not sell personal information or Google user data.

7. Retention and security

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

You may update account information, disconnect Google Calendar, revoke Google access, or request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Email academicgrantwritingenclave@gmail.com to submit a request. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

9. International processing and children

Our providers may process information outside Nigeria, subject to appropriate protections. Grantgator is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
